Iran National team won 3 medals at
Grass skiing Junior World Cup in Dizin
At FIS Grass Skiing Junior World
Championships 2010, held from 1st to 6th August 2010 in Dizin, Iran;
Mahdi Sologhani awarded a silver medal in Slalom and a bronze in
Super G. Iranian champion, Seyed Morteza Jafari won bronze medal in
Super combined.
Dizin is a ski resort; situated at the north of Tehran in the Alborz
mountain range, has been established in 1969. Because of its high
altitude the ski season in Dizin lasts longer than most of the ski
resorts even in Europe (from December to May) The highest ski lift
in Dizin reaches3'600 m, making it one of the 40 highest ski resorts
in the world.
Iran was a regular host of the FIS Grass Skiing World Cup events in
Dizin and also hosted 2005 FIS Grass Skiing World Championships
there. The FIS Grass Skiing World Championships 2009 were staged in
Horni Lhota (CZE) at the end of July early August last year

Dr.Saeedlou: Government's attention to sport has been declared in
World and Asian championships
Vice-President and the Head
of Physical Education Organization at his visit to Grass Skiing
Junior World Cup; which was started in beautiful pist of Disin
stated:" Government's attention and Investing in sport has been
flourished now and we are witnessing progressive trend of
development in all fields of sports.
Hosting important world and Asian sport evidences in several fields
of sports are samples of this progression.
Dr. Saeedlou on this visit also expressed that:" Sport is among the
first priorities of the government."
We can also see the government's attention to infrastructure has
been increased and we are witnessing new successes of our athletes
in different international championships.
Considering successfulness of Sport Federations in hosting important
Asians and World championships, Dr.Saeedlou added:
Holding Grass Skiing Junior World Cup is a marked sample or example
of such an important sport events; but we should try to boost the
level of these hosts in both quality and quantity.
He also added:
"In fact this is a reality that all Federations have found, the
ability to host important events."
Third stage of Seventh Grass Skiing Junior World Cup which had been
started on Thursday has been finished in 6th, Augest, 2010.
