According to the Public Relations Office of the Skiing and Winter Sports Federation and the official FIS website, Frederik Mueller (Norway/Atomic) claimed his inaugural win in the FIS Audi Alpine Skiing World Cup during Sunday’s Men's Super-G event held on the challenging Bormio course.
Mueller, who had finished fourth in the first two Super-G races of the season, delivered an exceptional performance on the bumpy course filled with technical turns, clocking a time of 1:29.22 while wearing bib number 4.
The day’s first run was marked by a severe crash involving Gino Caviezel (Switzerland/Atomic), causing significant delays to the race. Nevertheless, Mueller’s bold performance earned him his maiden World Cup podium finish at the age of 24.
Mueller told FIS:
“I feel incredible. My skiing was clearly good. I felt like I made mistakes—and I did—but they weren’t too costly. I managed to perform well in the areas where I knew I could ski effectively and avoided unnecessary errors.
I had two solid Super-G races before this. I knew my speed was good, and my skis, boots, everything was perfect, so I just had to ski the way I know how.”
